Chris Chown speaks at BRG awards night

An un-FORE-gettable awards evening and conference

Berry Recruitment Group’s annual conference and awards ceremony was held this year at the exclusive Centurion Golf Club in Hertfordshire.

Consultants came from across England and Wales to attend the event at which trophies were presented. All brands within BRG were represented: Berry Recruitment, Wild Recruitment, First Recruitment Services and Wild Berry Associates.

Managing director Chris Chown addressed the packed room at the golf club that is not far from BRG’s HQ in St Albans. He said there was room for optimism in the economic outlook for the year and signalled more group investment in technology.

Chris added that the Berry Recruitment app is being rolled out across the country and is proving its worth in helping customers. He said: “Our turnover is continuing to grow and so far this year we are hitting targets and there is a real optimism.

“The industry has been through tricky times but with hard work and innovation the group has developed ways of coming through it. The use of social media, our Berry Recruitment app and an emphasis on training our consultants is working to improve the business.”

Mohammed Rauf receiving the Tony Berry award from Tony’s son Spencer

The event saw Mohammed Rauf pick up the Tony Berry award, which is presented in memory of the business’s late chairman. Mohammed heads the company’s King’s Cross branch which has an emphasis on the rail industry. Tony died in 2022 aged 81 and his beloved wife Marion died last year. The award is presented to the ‘combined top biller’ across the group.

The evening included a superb three course dinner with live entertainment from the eight-piece band Uptown Funk.
